 ‘You have GOT to be kidding me. You know I can’t spend a whole month living with that guy! Hell we can’t even spend thirty seconds in the same room without fighting.’ You spout furiously at Shinra moments after he told you that he and Celty were going on a vacation so you’d have to stay with the only person left. Izaya.

‘Well I guess you could stay with Shizuo instead.’ He says thoughtfully

‘Ha. Like he’d let me stay with him. We haven’t even spoken since high school.’

‘You never know. I’ll call him now.’ He says flipping open his phone ‘Hey Shizuo. I have a huge favor to ask. Remember y/n from high school? Yeah f/n l/n. Well she was supposed to stay with Celty and I for a while but I completely forgot that we’re going on a trip that I had to beg Celty to go on. Anyways I was wondering if there’s any chance that she could stay with you until we get back. I know you have an extra room and the only other option is Izaya.’

Shizuo says something rather loudly on the other end that you can’t quite make out and then a smile breaks out on Shinra’s face. ‘Thanks so much I definitely owe you one! We’ll be over in ten minutes okay? Alright bye.’ He says clicking his phone off and turning to you.

‘Hey guess what? He said you could stay with him! Oh and I think he definitely remembers you because he also said something about not letting such a pretty girl stay with a flea like Izaya. Well let’s get your stuff and get going so Celty and I can leave too’

‘Hmm I wonder if Shizuo is the same as he was in high school. We used to be such good friends before I left for college. I never realized I even missed him until now though.’ You think to yourself.

*Mini Timeskip*

Shinra drops you outside Shizuo’s apartment and leaves right away without even bothering to make sure you get inside. He was freaking out about his trip so you didn’t blame him. You walk up to the door and knock carefully with your suitcase firmly in your other hand. You hear footsteps and the door is opened revealing Shizuo in his sunglasses and bartender outfit, smoking a cigarette.

‘Hey there Shizuo.’ You say breaking the silence ‘I see you’re still as blonde as ever. And don’t you know smoking will kill you someday?’

‘Hey yourself y/n. I wasn’t expecting to ever see you again. Well, you want to come in or what?’ he says a little gruffly but with a smile on his face.

You shift awkwardly as he grabs your suitcase from you and heads into his apartment.

‘I can carry that you know.’ You state

‘I know. You always were so self-sufficient, but what kind of guy would I be if I didn’t.’ He replies

You blush slightly at this. ‘Well thanks. And thanks for letting me stay with you. I really didn’t want to stay with Izaya.’

Shizuo growls slightly at the mention of his arch enemy. ‘I didn’t want you to stay with him either. Anyways this is your room.’ He says stopping abruptly and nodding to the room next to him. ‘And the bathroom is across the hall, and my room is all the way at the end. You can get settled in, I’ll be in the living room if you need anything.’

‘Thanks again Shizuo.’ You say heading into your new room and sitting on the bed as he heads back down the hall.

‘I wonder what he thinks of me? How’s this month going to go with him?’
