College Makoto x Reader pt 4

AND NOW IT’S TIME FOR THE THIRD HEAT OF THE MENS 100 FREE you hear a voice call over the intercom and you turn to Makoto.

‘Isn’t that the race you said your friend was in?’ you ask him

‘Yeah, He’s the third one down with the swimsuit with purple stripes.’ He replies

‘Makoto! Makoto look! Rin is in this heat too!’ Nagisa blurts excitedly, practically knocking everyone over as he bounces in his seat.

‘Oh I didn’t know he was going to be here too. This should be fun.’ Makoto calmly says to no one in particular.

TAKE YOUR MARKS               *BEEEEEEP*  And just like that the race had begun. You focused your attention on Haruka, watching as he fought for the lead with the guy they said was Rin. His swimming style was simply indescribable. You could understand why Rei had said he admired him earlier because it was truly amazing. As quickly as it had begun, the race was over with Haruka winning by mere tenths of a second over Rin. They guys were all cheering their lungs out as Haruka pulled himself out of the pool.

‘Hey let’s go congratulate him! We can say hi to Rin as well.’ Rei suggested which the rest of them were quick to agree with. Together you made your way to a hallway outside the locker rooms where you just happened to run into Rin as he was leaving them.

‘Rin!’ Nagisa yells, dragging you and the others over to where Rin is standing

‘Hey guys are you here to see Haruka? I think he’s still showering’ Rin says looking up from the text message he was sending. ‘Oh and who is the cute girl?’

‘That’s (Nickname). Makoto’s friend.’ Rei says as Rin is studying you up and down with a grin on his face.

‘What did they have to do to get such a pretty girl like you to come to a swim meet?’ He says addressing you, his comment bringing a blush to your face as you try to find something to say.

‘N-nothing really. It sounded like fun so I came.’ You say stammering slightly.

‘Well you know hanging out with me would be much more fun than hanging out with these guys. I could show you things almost as beautiful as you.’ He says which only increases your blushing. You shift slightly and look at the look towards the floor, completely missing the death glares Makoto is shooting Rin as he moves slightly closer to you, ready to drag you away if necessary.

‘Uuh I think I’m okay staying with them.’ You say, a little flustered due to all his comments. This causes Rin to chuckle and Makoto’s glare to soften slightly.

‘Just remember the offer always stands… What did you think of the race?’ Rin asks turning his attention away from you and back to the rest of the guys.

‘It was amazing! We couldn’t believe how close it was!’ Nagisa says oblivious to the tension that had just occurred between Rin and Makoto.

‘Glad you enjoyed it. Well I better get back to my team. See you guys later. And maybe I’ll see you (Nickname) again someday too.’ Rin says with a wave as he walks past your group towards where his team is.

‘Hey look its Haruka!’ Nagisa says, once again dragging you over to his other friend with his seemingly limitless energy.

‘Hey Haruka that was an awesome race and you won it!’ Rei says, earning only a slight nod in response from his stoic friend.

‘I see you’re still the best in the water.’ Makoto comments, surprising you slightly because he hadn’t spoken in a while.

‘Thanks. You guys didn’t have to come.’ He responds, keeping his sentences short.

‘That’s what friends are for though!’ Nagisa exclaims ‘Oh and we have a new friend, (Nickname)! She seemed as impressed with your swimming as we are Haru!’

‘It’s true, your swimming is really spectacular. Do you swim anything else?’ You add to Nagisa’s comment and you receive an icy stare from Haruka.

‘I only swim free.’ He says flatly

‘That’s the same old Haru for you.’ Makoto says as everyone laughs at his comment and you felt like it was a joke that you just didn’t know. ‘Well guys I think we better get going because we all have class tomorrow and Haru has swimming stuff to do right?’ This received a lot of grumbling from Rei and Nagisa but they eventually agreed and everyone said their goodbyes.

You all headed back to the train and you chatted with Makoto the whole way back, making the trip seem way shorter than it actually was. After you got off the train you said goodbye to Nagisa and Rei and you headed back towards campus with Makoto. You were in the middle of telling him how nice of a day it had been when you felt a wet drip fall on your face. Soon after it began to full out rain and you and Makoto found yourselves running.

‘Hey (Nickname)! My apartment is closer, we can just go there until it stops okay?’ He says, still running. You just nod in response, not wanting to show how out of breath the running was actually making you. Soon, you arrive at his apartment and you both stand just inside his door, out of breath and dripping wet.

‘Haha well that was an adventure.’ Makoto says, a grin on his face, the kind of grin that made your knees feel weak.

‘Hahaha yeah it was. Good thing I had this jacket to keep me at least a little dry.’ You say motioning to his now soaking jacket that you had been wearing all day.

‘You’re still soaked. Here I’ll just go get you a pair of my sweatpants and a t-shirt or something. That way you won’t catch a cold or something.’ He says exiting the room and returning in a moment holding some of his clothes.

‘The bathroom is just over there.’ He says pointing

‘Alright, Thanks. I’ll be right back.’ You said as you went to change. As soon as you got back Makoto had already changed and was making some hot chocolate in his kitchen.

‘I thought you might like some hot chocolate.’ He says as you enter the kitchen

‘Wow you’re the best, that sounds fantastic!’ You say and he hands you a mug of steaming hot chocolate. You take a sip and proceed to burn your tongue. A small yelp escapes your lips and you almost spill your hot chocolate all over.

‘Careful it’s really hot.’ He says before cautiously adding ‘Just like you.’

There’s a momentary silence as you blush a deep red.

‘Not you too! Didn’t Rin make me blush enough today??’ You exclaim in a playful manner

‘Don’t remind me.’ Makoto responds, almost growling at the mention of Rin.

‘……. Are you jealous?’ You ask with a giggle.

‘No! Of course not!’ He says defensively.

‘I think you are.’ You say with a giggle. ‘But don’t worry. I think I like you better than sharkie anyways.’ It was his turn to blush as you just stand there giggling at his reaction.

‘A-anyways do you want to watch a movie?’ He asks, trying to divert the conversation.

‘That sounds awesome!’ You respond, deciding to let him off the hook this time. Together you end up pulling all the pillows and blankets off of his bed and throwing them in a pile on the floor to sit on as you watched a comedy movie. It was really fun and you absolutely love the way his laugh sounds, it was completely adorable and fit him perfectly. As the credits were rolling you glance out the window and groan.

‘I guess it stopped raining so I better get home.’ You say, not wanting to leave.

‘Oh alright, I’ll help you get your stuff.’ He replies, also seeming disappointed.

‘Ugh my stuff is still all wet……. Do you think I could maybe wear yours home?’ You ask sheepishly

‘You’re just going to steal all my clothes aren't you!’ He says with a laugh

‘I’ll give them back I promise….. Maybe. They are really comfortable.’ You say while giving him your best puppy dog eyes to convince him.

‘Alright Alright. You can borrow them for now.’ He says with a sigh

‘YES!! Well I guess I’ll get going. See you in class tomorrow!’ You say with a smile on your face as you head out the door.

‘Yeah see you then.’ He says, standing in the doorway with a grin on his face as he watches you go once again, this time happy that he got to spend the day with you.
